Aptana Studio 1.0 (formerly Aptana IDE) is released. Along with the release of 1.0, they have also created two editions of the product: Community and Professional. The Community Edition is the keystone of the Studio product, where all core features and capabilities are developed. The Professional Edition brings additional features and services beyond the free Community edition.

Aptana Studio Community Edition is the free, open source Ajax and PHP development environment with over a million downloads that makes developing web pages fun again. This edition comes with optional packages to support Adobe AIR, iPhone, and Ruby on Rails development to integrate AJAX applications with emerging technologies. The Community Edition represents the core pieces of the Aptana frameworks for editing, debugging, synchronization, and project management, including pieces for scripting, customizing and extending Aptana.

Aptana Studio Professional builds on the features and capabilities of the Community Edition with advanced features for professional web developers. Aptana Studio Pro includes a year of free updates, support, and preview access to new features in addition to the following items:
    * JSON Editor
    * Internet Explorer Debugging
    * Remote Project Creation
    * FTPS and SFTP Support
    * Reporting Engine

The community edition is open source and free to download, the professional edition will cost $199,- but is now available for an introduction price of $99,-
